Croptek Organic is able to recommend, supply and offer an application service to farmers throughout East Anglia.
Poultry manure is a natural fertiliser, rich in all the minerals required to improve soils and therefore crop yields. It is in high demand for sugar beet, potatoes, onion, carrots and OSR crops in East Anglia because of the sandier soil types.
As a business, we are able to supply both regular poultry litter and also certified organic litter to organic growers.

Poultry litter doesn’t affect your crops in the same way as commercial fertilisers. Using litter is a slower, longer term process and unless your soil is nutrient deficient you will not likely see any benefits to litter over commercial fertiliser in the first year. You will most likely need to balance off your crop requirements with commercial fertilisers anyway.

Combinable crops, excluding barley, would be from 3t/ha.
Root crops such as sugar beet and potatoes would between 7/10t/ha.
Cultivated within 1-3 working days of application before ploughing.

Many farmers in the past have ordered their poultry litter on the basis of ’just in time’ which has been workable when demand was small. Today, however, demand has increased dramatically over the last few years and with the establishment of the power stations and environmental changes, the slack has gone out of the supply system.
Minimum order sizes are as follows:
20t delivered by 8 wheelers to hard standing and solid field locations.
28t delivered by arctic units to hard standing only.
Not available for garden allotments.
